Quick Facts

We are photographers Mary Halas, Michael Straus and Bob Tetro, and we all live in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Our shared passion for photography-as-art and our wonder at each others’ unique expressions of the world around us engendered PhotoVisions3.

We came together because of mutual inspiration and admiration for each others’ work during our ongoing study with Eliot Cohen. Welcome to PhotoVisions3—please browse our collections, and we hope you enjoy your stay.

Mary Halas
Mary Halas

Mary Halas has had several one-artist shows in the Washington Metropolitan area, and she has shown her pictures in the Photography Exhibit at the Waterford, Virginia annual fairs and in the town’s Red Barn Exhibits of juried fine art. Her collages also appeared at state and at national orchid shows, and she received Best Photograph in 2003 from the National Capitol Orchid Society. Learn more about Mary here.

Michael Straus
Michael Straus

Michael initially specialized in nature images, which he still enjoys. His travels, though, have made him realize that he has a mind which seeks to learn about people in other societies. He has also won juried entry and awards in area shows. Learn more about Michael here.

Bob Tetro

Whether we share an interest in photography, I think the more universal experience is the human tendency to be emotionally influenced by the visual character of ones environment. In pursuing a lifelong interest in photography, I have sought to impart a fine art character to otherwise familiar subjects and settings around the world. Learn more about Bob here.
